Who We Are and What We Do

Clinicians at Heart, with a Passion for Science.

As a group, we are all focused on improving outcomes for people by addressing underlying problems.
We meet regularly to discuss and plan the research project. The study was originally planned to be run from Sydney, Australia. However, when travel restrictions were imposed with the onset of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, Sharon rewrote ethics applications, and redesigned the study to enable it to take place from her Auckland-based clinic.

Our Mission

Rigorous Scientific Research

The background work for The FIDGIT Study commenced early in 2019, with a systematic review of the published literature. Focusing on research that had investigated relationships between the gut microbiome and the digestive problems experienced by people with fibromyalgia revealed that this was an unexplored area. Therefore, two separate systematic reviews were conducted.
Other preliminary research was conducted to investigate an anomaly observed in one of the tests we plan to utilise in The FIDGIT Study.
All these papers are published in peer-reviewed journals.
